Guy Baroan, president of Baroan Technologies, leading value-added computer technology dealer, recently worked with a client who uses Milestone XProtect, needed a way to watch certain cameras when away from the office. The client distributes high-value hardware, software and network products, and it wanted a way to have access to their cameras’ views at all times.

Situation:

The client’s previous camera had remote mobile phone access. But it was later discovered that the remote mobile phone access was only compatible with Windows Mobile devices. The Baroan client works with Blackberry units. Baroan Technologies investigated compatible remote monitoring solutions, and it was discovered that the MobiDeos MobileCamViewer was the best, and only, solution.

“There was no other solution available for Blackberry,” Baroan said. “[MobileCamViewer] is the only Blackberry option for remote monitoring of video cameras.”

Result

Baroan Technologies’ client currently runs Milestone XProtect with 22 Axis cameras to manage its distribution operations. MobileCamViewer allows the cameras’ views to be seen through the company’s preferred cell phones – Blackberries.

Baroan credits the MobileCamViewers ease of use, quick installment and operability as big selling points for the product.

“It took about few minutes to install MobileCamViewer on each of the Blackberries and activate it,” said Gary Grinberg, project manager with Baroan Technologies. “Connecting MobileCamViewer to MileStone Xprotect was a breeze; it was very easy and quickly solved my customer’s need.”
